Kugler Maag Cie Earns Certifications in Automotive SPICE, Cybersecurity and Functional Safety

International consulting company, Kugler Maag Cie (Kugler Maag), announced certifications across key service areas today, further establishing the company as a leader in Automotive Software Process Improvement Capability dEtermination (SPICE), Cybersecurity and Functional Safety consulting and training courses.

Peter Abowd, CEO of Kugler Maag North America, achieved Instructor – Competent Level, the fifth level of certification in Automotive SPICE through the International Assessor Certification Scheme (intacs). He is the first person in North America to receive this highest-level certification. Abowd is now among an elite international network that helps advance ways of working and brings improved value to North American companies wanting their employees certified.

Six assessors from Kugler Maag Cie North America Inc. have received the TÜV Rheinland Cybersecurity Engineer Certification for ISO/SAE 21434, a standard referring to the security aspects of electrical and electronic systems over the entire life cycle of the vehicle.

These individuals are now able to provide value by helping customers integrate cybersecurity into their everyday development activities and establish their own Cybersecurity Management System (CSMS) that is in-line with new international regulations.

Kugler Maag received certification from DAkkS, the German National Accreditation Body, compliant with ISO 26262 for Functional Safety. As a C-Type inspection body, the company is able to perform inspections in systems, components, hardware and software related to vehicle systems responsible for safety.
